No-exam life insurance

Which applicants can skip exams with accelerated underwriting, how the process works, and what changes if you're outside the accelerated group.

Most carriers now offer fast-track underwriting: for eligible applicants within age and sum constraints, they decide using just the application, pharmacy files, driving history, and other records without a medical exam. Decisions frequently arrive within twenty-four hours. Each quote on this site shows whether exams are skipped, possible, or required.

What it changes

Accelerated underwriting still involves full verification. Issued policies based on misstatements can be disputed during the initial two years. If issues emerge during the carrier's review, it might still order an exam or lab tests; you choose whether to continue.

Who tends to qualify

Generally, applicants below sixty applying for sums within the carrier's accelerated threshold, without significant health concerns and no nicotine use in the past one or more years. Several carriers allow recent medical records, including lab results from your doctor, to replace an exam.

If you need an exam, it's generally thirty minutes or less with a paramedic, done at your Milpitas home or office at no cost. For healthy applicants, exam findings can actually move you into a better rate class.
